...to everyone who made it out to the LBG on Saturday. Everybody had a great time-- well, most of us did at least. Special thanks to all of the first-time attendees in the house: Darrell, Brekke & Clint, Tracy, Christina, and our long-last pals Susan and Stacy! We hope we didn't scare you too much...
I have some pics to post, plus I know a few other s who were snapping away as well so I'll try to get my hands on those too. Check back soon for the photos.

HERE WE GO AGAIN!
The beautiful chaos of DIAMONDBAG will once again return to the stage at the glorious LBG on Saturday, April 21st. As always, we will be joined by the maddeningly talented NO COMMITMENT (it is always embarrassing for me to sing on the same stage as the lovely and uber-talented Steph).
The fun starts about 9:30, and as usual there will be a minimal cover charge in order for us to help pay for Jon's transport north. Hey, the man is driving up from Houston just to entertain you-- the least you can do is drive down the street and get drunk with him.
Afterwards, we will inevitably invade Matt & Sarah's place and drink until the sun comes up. Considering that most of us are pushing forty, I can't decide if that is cool or just simply pathetic. Either way, it's sure to be a grand time and we hope you will join us for the madness.
Oh yeah, it's like sorta Matt's birthday or something. Or close enough to it that you have to buy him booze at least. And if Pino shows up, it's close to his birthday too. The following people were actually born on April 21st, so you'll have to buy them a drink as well if they make it to the gig: Robert Smith from The Cure, Iggy Pop, Charlotte Bronte (doubt she'll make it though), Charles Grodin, and Hold Me Closa Tony Danza.
See ya at the LBG!!

BREAKING NEWS, D-bag fans!
Our next show is set-- Saturday April 21st at the LBG. Of course, No Commitment will be there as well. As an extra treat, I can also confirm that we will be back at the LBG on Saturday July 14th for an extra-special night of madness (let's just say that we will be celebrating a band member's 40th birthday in GRAND style).
And while you're updating your calendars, go ahead and write us down for Friday October 5th as well. That's right, the annual TX-OU gig is already booked for the LBG. Jay will unfortunately be in Hawaii that week (well, unfortunate for us at least!), so Eric will be switching over to guitar and the mighty Matt will be filling in on bass. Are we flexible or what?
3 gigs-- wow. Our cup runneth over.

Congratulations to R.E.M. and Van Halen on their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! The two bands could not be any more different, but both helped me get through the 80s with my sanity in tact. Seeing Bill Berry behind the kit again was fantastic, but his appearance made the absence of David Lee Roth and the Van Halen brothers seem even sadder. By the way, can you believe that Sammy is in his 60s? Damn he looks good.
Also, kudos to Patty Smith for a great speech and performance. She kicks so much ass. Maybe we'll cover "Because the Night" at our next gig-- it would be a perfect song for the Neil treatment.
So, speaking of Mr. Diamond, when is he gonna get into the HOF?? Just based on songwriting talent alone, his exclusion is laughable. Someday...

Have no fear, my friends-- DIAMONDBAG is still alive and well. We're currently working on setting up a show in either April or May, and we'll definitely be back for my big birthday bash in July. I'm not going to tell you how old I will be, but here's a hint: U2 afficianados often wonder, "How long to sing this song?"
We've had some problems with the Blog lately, and I'm hoping the update to Google has solved them. Check back often for more periodic updates (I hope).

Eric likes Coors Light.
If you're simply DYING for your Diamondbag fix, I have some good news for you: our upcoming show at the LBG has been pushed forward one week.
We will now be playing on SATURDAY, JANUARY 13th. Dogs. Cats. Living together. Mass hysteria.
If Mike & Steph don't kill each other before then, we'll see you at the LBG!
